Getting a mini oven is easy, but maintaining it is a difficult task for most people. Sometimes caterers make mistakes and splash some food on the oven. Some are not even watchful enough to notice that their food is boiling over. If a mini oven is not cleaned up on time, it may end up having a pile of grease built up on the chassis of your mini oven as well as causing some malfunctions such as electric shocks, rusting parts, etc.

Also, the more food spilled on the oven and the longer you leave it, the more difficult it is to remove. Thus it is advisable to clean your mini oven on a daily basis especially in the mornings before you start cooking.

In this article, we will show you some easy and smart ways of cleaning your burnt mini oven without damageing it.

Items Needed for the Cleaning Process

1. Use the proper oil

Get the following before you start cleaning:

  • Baking soda
  • Soap
  • Water
  • Green scrubbing pads
  • Mr. Clean Magic Eraser (optional)
  • Vinegar (white colour)
  • Bowl
  • A large quantity of elbow grease (used to clean old grease stains)
How

Choosing the right oil for your deep fryer is half battle won. Once you know the type of oil you want to use, you will need to fill up the fryer with it, taking care not to over-fill or under-fill it. If you have a model that have a minimum or maximum fill line, it becomes even easier as you have a ready gauge to guide your measurement.

Steps to Clean Up Your Mini Oven

2. Turn it on and start operating To start using your device, you need to turn it on by plugging it in and using the switch button to power it up. After that, set the temperature and time and ensure that you obtain the right level of temperature for the oil without going over that. You also need to maintain a temperature between 350 degrees F and 375 degrees F which is the suitable range for most of the cooking you will be doing. If your device comes with a thermostat, you don't have to bother too much about the temperature as it will automatically determine the correct temperature. However, if it doesn't come with one, you may have to get yourself a thermometer to select the right temperature for the oil.

When you have all these requirements, you can then proceed with the following steps;

  • 1Unplug your mini oven to avoid electrocution: Since you’ll be using water for the cleanup, it doesn’t make sense to keep your mini oven plugged in while cooking.
  • 2Dampen the soft cloth with warm water and soap: This makes it easier for tough stains to come out of your mini oven while cleaning it.
  • 3Use the damp soft cloth to clean the interior. By doing this you should be able to remove any food debris as well as cobwebs, insects, geckos, pests, etc. that may be within the interior of your mini oven.
  • 4Pour your baking soda into a bowl of water to form a thick paste. If the paste becomes too dry when you apply it, just add a little bit of water to make it soft.
  • 5Apply the paste formed in step 4 onto the surfaces stained with grease. If the stains are tough, then leave it to soften for some time.
  • 6Make your green scrubbing pad moist with water. Use the pad and baking soda to scrub the surfaces.
  • 7For a more effective cleaning, you can use Clean Magic Eraser instead of a scrubbing pad.
  • 8Keep scrubbing until the stains are cleaned up. You may apply more baking soda paste as required.
  • 9If the stains are really tough, you can apply some white vinegar on the stubborn part and leave it for a while.
  • 10When the stains are removed, wipe the interior by using a soft cloth dampened with soapy water.
  • 11After cleaning allow the interior to dry up before using it again.

Taking these steps to clean up your mini oven is actually easy. Since stains stick harder to the chassis of a mini oven when you leave it for long, it is much easier if you clean it up every weekend.
