The Procedure

The first step is to set up the steam cleaner. This involves filling the boiler with water, attaching the hose and steam gun, and plugging it into an electrical outlet. Once you have done all this, leave the cleaner for a few minutes to allow it to heat up. Next, do a thorough vacuuming of the couch to get rid of all the loose dust and debris. Go over every surface of the sofa using the upholstery attachment and if your couch is one of those that have removable cushions, take them off and vacuum all of their surfaces. Do not forget to vacuum the surface beneath the cushions. Now attach the crevice nozzle and use it to clean the gaps along the back and at the sides of the couch.

Now select the attachment recommended for upholstery cleaning and clip a thickly folded microfibre cloth to it. After that, get rid of any moisture in the hose and attach the cleaning tool clipped with the microfibre cloth . This is what you are going to use to clean the couch. But before that, you need to be sure that it is not going to cause any damage to your couch. Therefore, release the steam and wipe a small area of the couch then check it after around 15 minutes. If it is okay, you can proceed with the rest of the couch and keep changing the microfibre cloth clipped to the cleaning head since it gets saturated with dirt after some time.

Once you have cleaned the whole couch, leave it to air-dry and let the steam cleaner cool down before you drain the excess water from the boiler. Finally, vacuum the couch once again after it has completely dried to get rid of any dirt that may have been loosened by the steam cleaner but not picked by the microfibre cloth.
