You have lived with a refrigerator for several years. You know the feeling that builds up while walking to the fridge to pick up another treat knowing fully well that mom has just returned from the mall the other day.

You know on a normal day, the fridge is fully stocked, giving you access to all the nutrients, vitamins and minerals you need.

But now, this is different.

You don’t have anybody to stock it for you; you are the sole determiner of what goes into it. I’m talking about your mini fridge !

Now that you are officially a college student, you need now pay attention to what goes into your mini-fridge if you want to maintain the momentum. When leaving on campus, you may be subjected to structured meal. But if you want to keep having access to your night indulgences, beverages, between-meal snacks, you need to work out what you put in your mini fridge. 1. Freeze Pops

When you are in college, you can complain of heat, can you? If you find yourself in an environment that is so hot you are thirsting for a good treat, you will love freeze pops . Can’t make it to the dining hall before your breakfast? No worries. This yogurt is big sized and can serve as a good treat for a satisfying breakfast. Want a healthy dessert, mix it with honey. Want to taste some parfait in the classic form, have them with berries and granola. And if you like something crunchy, a peanut butter will make it good. You will need spoon to eat them, so don’t forget to have one handy.

5. Fruit and Vegetables

These are inevitable and should be in every college student’s fridge. You can take fruits for an on-the-go breakfast of a late night indulgence while buried in your books. Vegetables give you all the energy to last longer under the heavy burden of college life. And when exams are around the corner, they can help you keep up with the study load and cramming sessions.

6. Frozen Fruit

You can also stock up frozen fruit if your mini fridge has a freezer. Since they don’t expire quickly, they can be a great alternative to popsicles. For a frozen food with empty calories, make an ice cream out of bananas or mash them and pour into a mug. Add granola or nut before freezing or eat them on their own – they taste great that way too.
