As technology advances, different cooking methods emerge to make it easy for us to prepare our meals in little time.
A halogen oven is a versatile kitchen appliance that aids in the preparation of most meals at home by using beams of infrared radiation to produce heat.
The fan inside the oven is used to circulate heat around the food placed in it to cook.
The halogen oven can be used to roast, grill, steam, bake, dry and even barbecue. Halogen ovens are best used in households with busy lifestyles, families and those with on-the-go schedules.
Let’s discuss the different meals that can be prepared in the halogen oven.

You can have any type of breakfast prepared in a halogen oven. Grilling bacon, sausages, and toast are done in the healthiest way possible. Having to use little to no oil reduces fat intake thus promoting a healthy living. Fat in the food drips to the bottom of the pan to ensure you have the perfect meal. Boiled eggs can be cooked in this halogen oven but usually take longer than the rest (about 7 to 10 minutes). A little patience is all you need to get the best tasting boiled eggs you can ever find.
Roasting in the halogen oven is considered as one of the best cooking methods because you can cook directly onto the base of the halogen. Unlike in the conventional oven, roasting of chicken or potatoes is done beautifully and fast. When placed at the bottom rack, the chicken or potatoes tend to receive direct heat that aids in fast cooking.
The halogen oven provides different cooking methods for potatoes in that, you can bake or roast them. You can also cook beef in the oven depending on your preference. When using a halogen oven, the bottom of the oven should be left clear to let the air circulate freely.
Roasting is made easier provided there is the bottom rack in the oven that is directly placed on the element to hasten the roasting.
Steaming vegetables has never been easier. Having a halogen oven works perfect for these kinds of food.
The whole process is simplified by putting the vegetables needed in a silver foil, wrapping them and placing them in the oven for steaming.
A small amount of water can be put at the bottom of the oven so that more steam can be produced to aid in fast cooking. Salmon fish can also be steamed in the oven.
Baking in the halogen oven is also done with much ease. You can bake muffins, cookies, tarts sponges and even buns in your oven as long as you have all the ingredients ready. Bigger cakes, are however, hard to make in the halogen oven since there is little space for the middle part of the cake to fully cook. This doesn’t mean it is impossible to bake a bigger cake. You can get a doughnut tin that has a hole in the middle to have the cake evenly cooked. Cooking casseroles, curries and chillies is done in the same way as in the conventional oven. The only difference is experienced on the time used to have the meal ready. With the halogen oven, you get to have it quicker than when you are using the conventional oven. After having all the ingredients for, let’s say casserole, you put them in the casserole cookware and then place them in the halogen oven. You will have the meal ready in a matter of minutes.
Halogen ovens are indeed versatile since they can cook a variety of meals. Better still, they come with a recipe book that further widens your cooking horizon. These ovens are usually preferred because they have a tendency of preparing the food faster than a conventional oven. They cook far more efficiently than the conventional ovens simply because they reach maximum heat faster thanks to their small size and the fact that the fan circulates hot air around the food. Because of this feature, the cooking process is highly efficient. It is however worth noting that the less food it carries to cook, the faster it takes to have it ready.
