I mounted the fan directly to the ceiling, having already made a hole for the vent and fitted the extraction ducting. Two of the mounting holes make it awkward (but not impossible) to use a proper screwdriver i.e. you can't get the screwdriver perfectly straight, so I just used a stumpy screwdriver for those two: I'm picky, and despite not seeing the screws once the cover is on, I like to do things right. Operation wise, even at the highest speed setting, it doesn't make that much noise. About 30dB at setting 1 to 50dB at setting 3. I haven't cooked anything yet that produces a lot of steam/odour, so not sure how effective the suction is."

"Good looking extractor for the money"
"This is a great extractor for the money, I've only needed to use it on its slowest speed as seems powerful enough on that setting to removing steam and cooking vapours. It also has the ability to be connected to a flue or just use the built in vent, you have to turn a flap inside to do this. I knocked a star off the rating as it doesn't come with any filters I had to buy these separately."
