Washing machines are perhaps one of the most useful inventions in the past hundred years when it comes to basic quality of life. Beko makes wonderful machines, but if your Beko washing machine is not draining, it can become a major hassle. Clothes are too damp to properly dry, and you could even experience flooding or leakages! Luckily, Fraffles can help you troubleshoot and get things sorted.
The most common causes of a Beko washing machine not draining are a dirty or clogged pump filter, a bent or clogged drain hose, and issues with wastewater.
Keep reading for a rundown on what can go wrong and how to fix your Beko washing machine.
Now, keep in mind that these are complicated machines with a lot of internal parts that can bust at any time. It's important that you pinpoint the issue, as depending on what it is, you may need to call a professional for help. And if it's the worst-case and you need a new washing machine, check out our guide to the best budget washing machines in the market.
With that out of the way, let's get down to it, shall we?
First things first, the pump filter. This is one of the more commonly problematic parts in Beko washing machines. Because it's supposed to be cleaned every three months. Unfortunately, people often forget to clean it out, resulting in drainage issues.
The pump filter is installed to catch random objects like coins, lighters, and buttons that fall out in the wash. When it's not cleaned, grime and objects can build up and prevent water from draining properly.
To clean the filter, locate it at the bottom right of the washing machine. Next, you'll need to do the following:

This one is a much less involved thing to check. All you need to do is inspect the hose that goes between your washing machine and the drain. If it's clogged, you'll want to take it apart and clean it out. This can be done with vinegar and a long, sturdy object. You're essentially trying to knock refuse loose.
If your drain hose is bent , however, that's most likely your problem. Try to unbend it or even cut it down if it's too long to fit in the space you have it in. Bends and kinks will prevent water from escaping quickly enough to not flow back into the machine's drum.
If neither the hose nor the filter is the source of your problem, there may be an issue with water returning to the drum. Do the following to avoid wastewater returning to the drum:
A good rule of thumb to tell if wastewater is the issue is having dirty or soapy water in the drum when the washing cycle finishes. If it's clean water, however, this is likely not the source of the problem.
There are a few other solutions to look out for, though they're generally less common. Here are some other potential solutions you can check out:
Unplug your washer for at least one minute and then plug it back in. Yes - I just told you to turn it off and on again. Open the door and close it six times in twelve seconds to initiate a reset. As a note, this will vary by washing machine. Check with your manufacturer to be sure.
Washing machines will only drain and spin if you close the lid securely. If you think the door may not be closing all the way, press in the lid. If it starts to drain after you press the lid in, you need to extend the switch slightly.
Open your washer's control panel and look for a plastic tube attached to the water valve. Give it a quick clean with vinegar, and look for corrosion. If it's corroded, you need to replace the control panel with a new one.
There are a lot of things that can go wrong with your washing machine. If your Beko washing machine is not draining, begin by taking a look at the pump filter and drain hose. Generally, both are rather easy to check and clean if needed and are rather common problem areas with Beko washing machines. It's a good rule of thumb that you need to clean your filter every three months (give or take). If you haven't been doing your due diligence and keeping your machine clean, it's no surprise that it isn't draining - that goes for the drain hose as well.
If neither the pump filter nor drain hose was the source of your washing woes, take a look at the water level control, lid switch, and ensure wastewater isn't flowing back into the drum. One final thing to do before calling for help is to perform a manual reset, as detailed in your owner's manual. And as washers are expensive, don't hesitate to call a professional to take a look. While it may cost a bit of money, a pro will save you time and get your clothes back to the cleanliness they should be at.
